About Ottis King

I was born on September 8, 1935, at Holly Ridge, Stump Sound Township, Onslow County, North Carolina, to Lester Lee King and Myrtie Ellen Shepard King.  I was the three years old when my parents moved to Richlands.  I have two sisters, Leatrice Elizabeth and Kathleen Joy.

My entire schooling from grade one through grade twelve was at Richlands School, graduating in 1953.  I attended Wake Forest College and Campbell Junior College, and after a tour with the United States Air Force, returned to Campbell.  The college was transitioning into a four year college at the time, and I graduated with the second class in 1964.  Later I would graduate from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC.

Bethany Baptist Church in Richland licensed me to preach, and on September 23, 1956 ordained me to the Gospel Ministry.  I pastored Catherine Lake Baptist Church, Richlands, before entering the U.S. Air Force.  After graduating from Campbell College in 1964, I pastored Faith Baptist Church, Selma, NC; New Bethel Baptist Church, Epsom, NC; Atkinson Baptist Church, Atkinson, NC; and Wells Chapel Baptist Church, Harrells, NC.

After being trained as an Intentional Interim Ministry Specialist, I have served as Interim Pastor of Kellum Baptist Church and Midville Baptist Church, both in Jacksonville, NC.

I have attached two files that are very personal to me.  One details my calling into the Gospel Ministry, the second relates to a doctor's appointment some time ago.  I hope you can find help and encouragement through them.
